Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) for web sites has never been so important. Over the last few years, Cravenplan has designed three web sites for local building firms, with two of them taking the option of ongoing SEO for their sites.

By working alongside the designers, the search engine team were able to implement strategies and keywords that have helped the promotion of the sites in the search engines. As a result of this and the subsequent work that is carried out every month their visitor numbers are much higher than those of the company who chose not to take up the option of additional ongoing work.
Snibor, a Gillingham, Dorset based firm came to us at the beginning of 2008 for their new site. Not content with being an ‘average’ builder, Snibor offers more unusual services to its customers including architectural and interior design, property maintenance and heating and renewable energy services as well as the more traditional aspects that you would expect from a quality builder.
Since the launch of their new site Snibor’s visitor figures have grown steadily month on month and on average they have 56% more visits to the site than the company who chose not to have SEO work and 73% more unique visitors (visitors who are visiting the site for the first time).
Heritage Restoration is an established construction company specialising in the restoration and extension of period properties and listed buildings based in Wiltshire. With their extensive knowledge, their team have been able to complete a wide range of projects over the years including listed building restoration, establishment of estate infrastructures, conservation projects and the conversion of farm buildings into dwellings as well as new builds.
The Heritage Restoration web site was launched late in 2008 and again their site has had some impressive visitor numbers - again far more than the company who didn’t have SEO work. With 43% more visits and 94% more unique visitors, the company has had a lot of enquiries through the site, including being contacted by the BBC for inclusion in a new documentary.
In any market reaching as many potential customers as possible is essential. Having Search Engine Optimisation work on a web site during this difficult financial time can save money in the long run for companies as they could increase their business and sales with little effort, making it a cost effective way of getting potential new customers.
